Local asparagus stars at trade show

by isleofman.com 22nd April 2015
Local food producers have been presenting the fruits of their labour at a trade show.
Manx grown asparagus is one of the crops on display at Ballapaddagh off Cooil Road.
It's being grown on a commercial level for the first time for local wholesalers Robinsons.
The crop was trialled last year by the company and is now being grown in the north of the Island by Mike Kneale.
Other new crops are also being grown for the firm . . and John Horsthuis from Robinson's told Alex Wotton they're hoping to encourage restaurants and food outlets to put more Manx produce on to their menus
