Seven declare in by-elections

Four candidates will contest the Douglas South seat in the by-election on May 21. Three people are standing in the Douglas North by-election.


One MHK will be elected in each constituency to replace Bill Henderson and David Cretney, who are now serving as members of the Legislative Council.


The candidates for Douglas South are businessman Kurt Buchholz, homemaker Amy Burns, nurse and charity manager Keith Daryl Fitton and engineer and company director Bill Malarkey. Fighting for the seat in Douglas North will be businessman David Ashford, shipping officer Maire Booth and businessman Ralph Peake.
