The One World Centre is encouraging you to save your stamps for the Leprosy Mission this Christmas.

Last year the Island helped the organisation raise £120,000 across the UK just by saving old stamps! The money is used to help some of the 3 million people who are living with irreversible disabilities as a result of the late treatment of leprosy.

Stamps should be cut out neatly with at least a 5mm margin each side.  They can be left at the back of St John’s Church, or at the One World Centre in St Johns.  Many other local churches and schools are also acting as collection points. 

Rosemary Clarke, director of the One World Centre, said: “It’s great that doing something as simple as saving stamps can make a difference to people’s lives.  If you’d like to know more about the work of the Leprosy Mission, regional manager Nick Calland will be visiting the Island in February and will be speaking to a range of groups.”
