Bus Vannin is providing additional late night bus services this festive season.
The N1, N3 and N5 Night Owl buses will operate at 0015 for people out on Friday night 20 December and on Saturday 21 December. On both nights, there will be extra services departing at 0115 serving the north, south and west of the Island.
These Night Owl services provide connections both ways between Douglas and Ramsey via Laxey; between Douglas and Port St Mary via Castletown, Colby and Port Erin; and between Douglas and Peel in the early hours of Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 December.
The 0015 and 0115 Night Owl services will be repeated for New Year’s Eve partygoers, with additional early evening services operating on New Year’s Eve (Tuesday 31 December) on service numbers 3, 5 and 12.
Full details can be found below and on www.iombusandrail.info.
Graham Cregeen MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure, said: ‘In running these additional services, we have tried to take account of people wanting to celebrate over the festive period, especially New Year’s Eve when they might not want to depart immediately after midnight to get a bus home. That service is still available along with a later one that responds to our customer feedback. The late buses are there to serve the public and I hope they will prove popular.
‘The additional Night Owl services this weekend and next Tuesday night have been laid on to support the festive anti-drink drive campaign and we hope to reach people who wouldn’t normally think of travelling by bus.’
Night Owl fares apply, which are double the adult fare after midnight, no concessions. For example, that will mean a £5.40 Night Owl fare from Douglas to Castletown, Laxey or Peel; and £6.20 from Douglas to Ramsey, Port Erin or Port St Mary.
