Douglas based group The Southern Audio Conspiracy are celebrating the launch of their new website, www.thesouthernaudioconspiracy.com, with a string of gigs during August.

The band, who formed in 2012, have spent the first half of this year writing and rehearsing an extensive set of unique, southern-infused original music, have played a small number of well received gigs recently and are now ramping up activity and bringing their powerful yet meldolic brand of southern-infused rock music around the Island.

The band are playing gigs at Amber on Loch Promenade on Friday 23 August with support from Fletcher Christian Mutiny and then two gigs in one day on Saturday 31 August, firstly at 3pm on North Quay as part of Manx Radio Live and secondly later that evening at the newly opened venue Carnival at 58 Strand Street with support from Jack Wolter from Your Gold Teeth.

The individual members of the band bring years of experience playing not only on the local scene but also in bands and tours nationally and internationally; Steve Halsall - bass, Simon Harvey - guitar and backing vocals, Steve McKibbin - guitar, Martin Rigby - drums and backing vocals and Caitie Tate – lead vocal.

Drummer Martin Rigby commented: “We've been rehearsing intensely to put together a show which covers a range of musical styles with a unique southern rock influence. Every member of the band brings their own influences and personality and out of the melting pot comes these great songs with a solid groove to dance to, soulful lyrics and melodies to sing along with and powerful, funky riffs and solos so you can rock out to your heart's content.”

“From heartfelt ballads, through soulful country and blues, high energy funk and epic rock numbers there truly is something for everyone with The Southern Audio Conspiracy.”

Guitarist and main songwriter Simon Harvey also said: “The Southern Audio Conspiracy is exactly that, five musicians who conspired together to make some awesome sounding, unique modern music. There's a definite country and blues edge to the music which we hope sets us apart from other bands and we can't wait to bring this music out the Island and, next year, to the UK and beyond.”

“We've uploaded some demos to our new website at www.thesouthernaudioconspiracy.com ahead of us getting in to the studio this autumn and winter to record our debut album. We hope to see you at some of our upcoming shows, please come and say hi!”

The new website, www.southenaudioconspiracy.com has everything you need to know about the band with gig information, band biographies, audio clips, pictures and shortly there will be some live videos too.
