Police investigating theft from boat trailer

by isleofman.com 22nd August 2013

Port Erin Police are investigating a report of a theft of parts from a boat trailer parked on Clifton Road, Port St Mary between approximately 8th August 2013 and 21st August 2013.

The parts that are from a Nicholson Trailer consist of a Winch, Pedestal and Bow Attachment and are valued at approximately ?200.

Police Sergeant Gary Heaton of The Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team said:- “Security of boats and yachts is as important as it is to car owners but sometimes more difficult to secure and often overlooked. There are products on the market which can help boat owners secure their vessels and I would encourage them to do so particularly over the summer months. I would also suggest not leaving valuable items on boats and vessels in order to lessen the risks deterring theft and damage.  As always we are happy to help and give crime prevention advice at any time”.

If you have any information that can assist Police then please contact Port Erin Police Station on 832222 or alternatively contact the anonymous CrimeStoppers Line on 0800 555 111.
