Geordies thrash Town in rearranged opener

In football, St. George's are in a familiar position at the top of the Canada Life Premier League.

After their opening fixture at Castletown was postponed on Saturday, the game was rearranged and played at The Stadium last night.

The champions recorded an 8-1 victory thanks to goals from Ciaran McNulty (2), Calum Morrissey (2), Chris Bass, Sean Quaye, Liam Cowin and Reece Thompson.

Alex Crawley scored for the home side.
