The operators of a bikes museum in Kirk Michael say their faith in human nature has been restored.

Earlier this week, around £100 in banknotes was stolen from a TT Riders' Association charity box at the museum. Since then, personal donations, a whip-round at the Vintage Motor Cycle Club's presentation night and the auction of a donated canvas of Michael Dunlop has raised a total of £315 to replace the stolen money.

Tony East, owner of the A.R.E classic bike collection and secretary of the Isle of Man section of the VMCC, said: 'All of that money will be going to the Friends of the TT Riders' Association together with other money raised during the past two weeks.

'A big, big thank you to all involved for restoring our faith in human nature.'
