The artist who has pledged to create an original piece of work every day throughout the Island of Culture year is taking his talent into local schools.
Juan Moore will be spending a day at each of the Island's secondary schools and King William's College to give students an insight into how he works, over the course of the next month.
The first workshop takes place tomorrow at QEII High School in Peel. Juan, an ambassador for Island of Culture, will talk about his own experiences as an artist, as well as demonstrating how he paints and giving advice about further and higher education opportunities in the creative arts.
Juan said: 'As part of my image a day project funded by the Isle of Man Arts Council I'll be visiting all the Island's high schools. While at each school I shall set up and throughout the day I'll be creating an image, most likely a painting, for the following day's post on the blog (http://imageadayiom.blogspot.com). This will allow students to see a professional creative work and hopefully demystify the artistic process.'
