A bill designed to redraw the political map has passed the clauses stage in the House of Keys.

Rushen MHKS Phil Gawne and Juan Watterson, along with Onchan MHK Peter Karran, had tabled a string of amendments to the proposed legislation, prompting Chief Minister Allan Bell to accuse them of attempting to scupper the bill.

However, after a lengthy debate, the bill is progressing through the House. The changes will see the existing mix of one, two and three-seat constituencies being replaced with 12 two-seat constituencies, as recommended by the Boundary Review Committee.
