The Manx parliament sits down today to debate a Tynwald agenda that includes the Budget announcement and the controversial toilet tax.
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare will this morning present his Budget for the forthcoming year. He'll also defend the £50 sewerage charge, or toilet tax, that is to be imposed on every household. Douglas MHK Chris Thomas is expected to present a petition containing more than 6,000 signatures that is protesting against the charge.
Also on today's agenda is the bailout by the Manx Government of the Sefton Group, the findings of a parliamentary committee into the Noble's Hospital debacle, and a call from Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft for the Treasury Minister to investigate zero-based budgeting.
- Watch Mr Teare's Budget presentation and interview on MTTV at 11.30am.
