Island Director of RBS apologises for recent technical issue

by Mike Sunier, FCIPR

Bill Shimmins, Isle of Man Island Director of RBS International has confirmed that the Isle of Man Bank Regent Street branch will open this Saturday from 9.30am to 1.30pm to assist customers who are unable to get to their branch during working hours.

And commented on the recent techanical issues:

"RBS International and NatWest, locally, and the Isle of Man Bank have restored most systems functionality but confirm that some data visible via our online systems eQ and ibanking is still updating. Work continues to bring these specific offshore systems up to date and every effort is being made to achieve this as quickly as possible. We know this disruption has been unacceptable for which we apologise and that many customers will still have questions and concerns. However we can reassure customers that no one will be left permanently out of pocket as a result of this and thank them for their patience during this incident. Our teams locally stand ready to help customers. We will continue with extended opening hours for the remainder of this week and with the extensive customer support we have in place to mitigate the affect of this disruption. The bank is very grateful to our staff for the extraordinary efforts they are making to help and serve our customers."
