Motorists are being warned of major changes from Monday to the temporary traffic flow scheme at the end of Loch Promenade.
It's to enable the next phase of the highway improvement scheme being carried out by the Department of Infrastructure.
From February 3, the junction between Walpole Avenue and Loch Promenade will be closed to through traffic for five weeks. Motorists will be able to enter and leave Walpole Avenue using the Bath Place junction.
At the same time, the Sea Terminal side of Peveril Square will be closed off to traffic.
A spokesman for the DOI said: 'In order to keep traffic flowing in this busy area of Douglas, the department considered options such as a full road closure, and traffic signals, but has taken the view it is better to try to keep traffic flowing wherever possible.'
Diversions will be in place so that motorists can still access the promenade and the Sea Terminal.
Pedestrians will be able to access all businesses on Walpole Avenue, as well as Pizza Hut, La Piazza and Bordello's from Walpole Avenue only.
