The Isle of Man’s offering as an established platform for business success has been further promoted in China by The ILS Group at a high profile event attended by more than 450 Chinese high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and professionals.
Leading global fiduciary services provider The ILS Group, which has 10 offices around the world and its headquarters in the Isle of Man, was a Gold Sponsor at the China Offshore Summit in Beijing in May and promoted the Island's reputation as a well respected international business centre.
The Group also staged a special two hour presentation as part of the Summit. More than 80 Chinese delegates attended the exclusive seminar entitled ‘Your wealth: How to create, enjoy and protect it using international structuring’, which included the presentations ‘Structuring International Groups and Assets’, ‘Yacht and Aircraft Structuring’, ‘Trading – Opening Up the European Market’ and ‘Accessing a World of Global Solutions Through ILS Asia’.
The China Offshore Summit included presentations, workshops and panel discussions, which addressed the most pressing issues in China’s outbound offshore investments, including a 30 minute presentation from The ILS Group Chief Executive Officer Chris Eaton entitled ‘Around the World – An Offshore Update’.
Chris said: “We were once again delighted to return as Gold Sponsors of the Summit Series and attend such a high profile and successful event. This was a significant opportunity for The ILS Group to educate the Chinese delegates about the Isle of Man and promote our global platform and comprehensive range of tax efficient structures and related business services.
“In terms of wealth Asia-Pacific is the third biggest in the world and it is expected to surpass Europe in 2024 and the US in 2032. These figures continue to reinforce the importance of Asia and the potential it holds for the Isle of Man.”
The two day summit gathered China’s leading financial intermediaries with the international trust companies, bankers, lawyers and corporate service providers for an exclusive and in-depth conference examining the full spectrum of investment, trade and wealth management coming out of China.
China Offshore Director Matthew Sumner said: “The China Offshore Summit Series continues to be a great success with impressive numbers of delegates attending each year. This offering is further enhanced by the presence of The ILS Group, whose expertise and global range of fiduciary services is of great interest to our Chinese delegates. The Isle of Man is an established international finance centre and we are delighted to assist in the promotion of the Island’s unique offering to our audiences.
“These conferences are designed to explain to China’s top financial intermediaries how they can benefit from the unique asset management and corporate product offerings available in the world’s international offshore financial centres, which includes the Isle of Man. We look forward to continuing to promote The ILS Group’s offering as a leading global fiduciary services provider in Asia.”
The ILS Group will be continuing its promotional activity in China as it returns as Gold Sponsor of the China Offshore Summit in Shanghai in October and attends the prestigious Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Asia conference in Hong Kong.
Group Marketing Manager of The ILS Group Kara McCabe, who is currently on secondment from the Isle of Man to Hong Kong for three months, said: “The China Offshore Summit once again proved to be a great success for The ILS Group, as we met with more than 400 Chinese and international entrepreneurs and professionals.
“With four of our 10 offices located in Asia, in Beijing, Dubai, Hong Kong and Shanghai, the Asia market is a core focus for ILS. The region will continue to be at the forefront of wealth creation, making millionaires at a faster pace than any other region in the world and nothing is more important for any enterprise than to find and exploit new market opportunities.
“As Asia continues to welcome more members into its UHNW club, The ILS Group is committed to promoting its services and the Manx message in Asia and we look forward to returning as Gold sponsor of the China Offshore Summit in Shanghai in October.”
