Following a tough audition process last Sunday evening, this years finalist for Search for a Star 2012 have been decided.  The competition, based on the popular ITV show, will begin in full this Friday down at The Crescent Nightclub.

With 5 weeks of competition ahead, the winner will claim a £1000 prize pot as well as a professionally produced CD.  Each week will have a different them, such as 80’s, Take That and Disco with this week kicking off with Songs from the Movies.

Commenting on the standard of entry, Stuart Hampson one of the Judges from sponsor Tanfastic said “The level of entry this year has been extremely high and I know we are in for a fantastic competition.  Whilst I wish my fellow judges George and Carol well, I secretly think 2012 is the year for one of my acts to win!”

All funds raised from voting and ticket sales to the final will go direct to Age Concern.  As an added extra, due to the generosity of Heron & Brearley, a donation will be made to the charity for every pint of Okells Bitter consumed during the competition period.

The competition is sponsored by The Crescent, DAM Productions, 3FM, Ye Olde Manx Spitting Pig Company and Tanfastic Sun Centres.
