Local Marketers Set to Learn the Power of Video in Special Cinematic Presentation

by The Chartered Institute of Marketing

The Island’s marketers are set to discover just how easy it is to incorporate video into their promotional plan over a box of popcorn at a special cinematic presentation.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Isle of Man Branch is staging its first event of 2012 at The Palace Cinema in Douglas on Wednesday 29th February, with local filmmaker and videographer Glenn Whorral as special guest speaker.

Isle of Man Branch Chair Gavin Smith said: “Ever since the first 'motion pictures' of the silver screen, video has captivated audiences with its powerful and emotive mix of both sound and vision. In today's digital world, YouTube has revolutionised the way the format can reach both niche and mass markets.

“Whether you're a sole trader or a large corporate, this cinematic presentation, followed by a Q&A session with local filmmaker and videographer Glenn Whorrall, will show you just how easy it is to incorporate video into your promotional plan. With real life local examples and expert tips, you'll find out how to set up your own YouTube channel, choose appropriate subject matter and formats, create your own content, brief a video supplier, incorporate a video feed to your Facebook page and add tags for search engine optimisation.”

Glenn is a relative veteran of video having worked in the field for over 15 years. As owner of yourwebvideo.com he provides a wide range of clients with video and animation services.

Registration is from 12:30pm. The event will start at 1pm, with a 2pm finish. Popcorn will be provided. Entry is free for CIM members or £10 for non-Members.
